- Fuck HSBC

So, after HSBC decided to randomly charge us an $8 fee, I realized I had to close the account.
I call them today "Call any time: 1.800.975.HSBC (4722)" and I get three options from the automated system. 1 - Account Info, 2 - lost cards, 3 - Some loan or something. Nothing to talk with a person, so I just press 0, and it replays the menu. I then press # "Invalid option" and it hangs up on me.
I call back, and try option 1 to get account info. "To better serve you, please enter the 1-800 number you dialed to reach this service."
You've got to be kidding me! Coworker who overheard: "I am!"
So, I call a number, only to have to tell them what fucking number I called? Eat my ass, HSBC.

It reminds me of when we moved to Mass, and I closed out my HSBC account.
I did everything they said to get the account closed and they said it was closed. then a couple months later I bought something on PayPal and accidentally still had it linked to my HSBC checking account. I noticed as I was pressing the submit button.
What do you think HSBC would do. Logically, they would see the transaction come through to a closed account and be like... no that account is closed, sorry denied. Well like the wonderful pieces of rotten elephant dung they are, they REOPENED the account. Why? Why? Why?!
Of course the account had a balance of 0 BECAUSE I CLOSED IT! But they hit me with overdraft fees. took me many calls to clear this all up, it was ridiculous.
Bank of America which we have here isn't too much better. they're the fee-kings.
